Founded in 1903 and rebuilt in 1997, Cicerello’s Fremantle is now better than ever. Housed in a boatshed style building facing Fremantle’s famous Fishing Boat Harbour, Cicerello’s still sells the real thing, freshly caught seafood including oysters, mussels, crabs and crayfish and chips wrapped in butcher’s paper (no cardboard boxes or plastic plates here – they don’t keep chips as warm!). Fish can be fresh fried or grilled, depending on your taste and eaten with a choice of accompanying salads. Cicerello’s also has a capuccino and ice-cream bar and is licensed to sell a wide variety of wine and beer.

Fish ‘n’ chips can be enjoyed right on the water’s edge on Cicerello’s huge boardwalk. The boardwalk seats and tables are made of century old jarrah salvaged from the original jetty. The boardwalk is the perfect place to take in Fremantle’s famous Fishing Boat Harbour, to watch the bobbing boats or listen to the quiet flap of their mast ropes.
The inside eating area still has the hallmarks of the original Cicerello’s style with its concrete floor and laminex tables. Huge windows face Fremantle’s famous Fishing Boat Harbour so you can munch on your fish ‘n’ chips whilst taking in the superb outlook.
